Beltane blessings! Beltane night 30th April Saga gave us 9 puppies Being pregnant with 10 puppies took its toll on Saga; 3 days too early Saga needed a C-section. Unfortunally Saga got sick after and was admitted to the Animal Hospital. When she came home she was still very weak and needed all her energy on getting well again and couldn't nurse her puppies anymore. Saga now is getting stronger and stronger each day, but she has still a long way to go. Together with Saga we take care of the puppies. There maybe no milk, but there is plenty of love!
Beltane is a major Pagan festival; It is the union of the God and Goddess. The word Beltane means Bel's Fire or Bright Fire. It is named after the God Bel an ancient Celtic Sun God. Beltane is a fertility festival, it is the height of Spring and the beginning of Summer. Earths energy is very strong and potent at the minute with new life is blossoming and blooming everywhere you look. In Celtic times it would be traditional to build a big bonfire in the centre of the village and have a big feast. On Beltane we celebrate the abundance of the earth, it is a happy time when we give thanks for all we have in our lives and look forward to the bright sunny days ahead.
Saga is from our breeding but we do not own her. After we lost Irish, Saga's sister, we got the honor to borrow Saga for a while and take a litter from her. Saga is very similar to her sister Irish, you will find info about Irish on the website. Saga is truly a big dog with short legs! She loves to work for you and never fear a training challenge!. Herding cows and sheep in organized form is definitely such a challenge, as is training accuracy in rally obedience or using her nose in nosework. At home, she switches roles between a guarddog and lapdog in zero seconds. All important health checks are done without remark. Pedigree for this litter: http://www.cardiped.net/testmating.php?dam=93904&sire=98280 At the moment we have more possible future-puppybuyers than the assumed number of puppies, so we unfortunately have to decline more registrations of interest on this litter.
