When we bought Pien, we also met Ulysse, Gaia’s mother. Janneke really liked her and said to herself that she would really like a puppy from her one day. So one thing led to another and although we lived in Sweden, when we found out that Ulysse had a litter and there was one bitch left, Janneke could not resist it. After a lot of paperwork and a long flight from Holland I arrived home with Gaia. A big adventure for a little puppy (and me as well) and it really formed a strong band between me and Gaia
Gaia is a dog full of energy, she never seems tired, always ready to go. On walks she is almost never on the path, she likes to explore on her own, following where her nose takes her. Nevertheless, she is always close by, never far away from your side. She made her début in the showring in the summer of 2011. We are proud to say she became best puppy on the specialty show from Bassetklubben Öst (East) in Skedhult. We also started bloodtracking with Gaia and she is doing a great job. After already 3 times in a comeptition we could call her Swedish bloodtracking champion. At home Gaia is a playful dog, still a puppy in mind. She likes to play with as much sound as possible, running around the yard. Inside the best spot is on the couch sunbathing while checking out what is going on outside, looking outside the window. In the evenings Gaia is to be found on her bed in front of the fire, dreaming of chasing rabbits? |
